About the role

We’re looking for an experienced consultant, who can bring their prior expertise and passion in organisational design and technical frameworks when leading transformational programs. This role is suited to someone who is highly resilient when working through challenges (including political and financial) faced by the public sector. We need an individual who's not afraid of responsibility and is capable of bringing the client and senior leadership members along with them on transformational journeys.


You’ll be a part of a consulting team and responsible for helping lead and deliver digital transformational programs for public sector clients. In this role you’ll:

  • help develop and grow FutureGov’s organisational design offer
  • conduct complex and large scale projects in collaboration with strategy and digital experts
  • undertake technical analysis to uncover key problem/opportunity areas for clients
  • recommend the optimal sequences and phasing of transformational work based on key interdependencies
  • assist with risk and issue management
  • design the business model, organisational structure, processes, practices, incentives, behaviours, culture and ways of working
  • conduct organisational discovery to identify challenges, capabilities, gaps and potential for improvement
  • translate new service concepts into practical changes our clients need

Your experience and mindset

In the past you’ll have worked in local or central government, the NHS or in consulting roles across wider sectors. You've supported or led engagements with clients, and have an understanding of how to build relationships which help both the design and delivery of our ideas. You’re not satisfied with just designing the future, you’ll want to stay until your ideas are implemented, bringing the client with you. You’ll also:

  • be passionate about making a social difference and excited about digitally transforming the public sector
  • know how to turn complex overload into manageable change and actions
  • have experience in building excellent relationships with clients
  • be politically, socially and financially savvy, you’ll enjoy working in big organisations
  • have a creative and inspirational mind and enjoy complex challenges
  • display empathy towards a wide range of users
  • have excellent communication skills and be comfortable speaking to senior managers as much as front line workers and their clients
  • be comfortable working across teams and independently, and can manage a variety of different projects simultaneously
  • lead by example, are self aware, emotionally intelligent and calm under pressure
